We remove the decay, clean the cavity and rebuild the tooth in layers of composite resin, curing each layer before the next. The shade is matched against the teeth on either side in natural light rather than under the chair lamp.
We do not place amalgam. Composite bonds to the tooth rather than sitting in it, which means less healthy tooth has to be cut away to hold the filling in place.
You will be numb for an hour or two afterwards. Beyond that there is nothing to recover from — most people go back to work straight from the appointment.
